Compatibility & Installation Notes

Match the nominal inlet size, NPT thread, valve series and operating key before ordering. The 3/4-inch inlet size is a pipe designation, not the overall body diameter.

Install with support and service access suited to the site, keeping the cover accessible at finished grade. Isolate and depressurize the supply before installation or service. Select fittings and backflow protection for the actual water system.

Check the manufacturer's model-specific pressure-loss table at the intended flow; the family's published 10–125 GPM range is not a promise that every valve size supports every flow at a practical pressure loss. Use the matching operating key to open the valve and connect the outlet equipment. Keys and hose-connection accessories are separate selections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which key operates the 33DRC?

Use a Rain Bird 33DK operating key matched to the valve and outlet connection. A hose does not connect directly to the valve opening.

Does the 33DRC have a locking cover?

No. The 33DRC has a non-locking yellow thermoplastic rubber cover. Choose 33DLRC if you need the locking-cover model.

Is the 3/4-inch inlet a garden-hose connection?

No. It is a nominal 3/4-inch female NPT pipe inlet. Use the correct operating key and a compatible hose swivel or adapter for the hose connection.

Is the 33DRC the purple non-potable version?

No. The 33DRC has a yellow cover. Rain Bird identifies the purple 33DNP model for non-potable marking. Cover color does not treat water or provide backflow protection.

Why Buy from Big Frog Supply?

Choose the 33DRC for a 3/4-inch NPT connection with a serviceable two-piece body and double-track 33DK key interface. Its 4-3/8-inch height helps you plan the access box; for a larger 1-inch supply or a locking lid, choose the appropriate valve model rather than assuming that any quick-coupling key will fit.
